Who is Bayonetta?
Bayonetta is the offspring of a forbidden Sage and Witch union. As a result, her father Balder was banished while her mother Rosa was imprisoned. This caused an enduring conflict between the Lumen Sages and Umbra Witches known as the Clan Wars.
Although she was raised alongside the Witches, she was treated as an outcast. She formed a strong bond with Jeanne, who was later responsible for sealing Bayonetta and her memories in a 500-year slumber. She was then found by Antonio Redgrave with no recollection of her past memories.
Throughout the game, she acquires bits and pieces of her past, including her father’s plans to resurrect Jubileus the Creator by awakening his Right Eye of the World and Bayonetta’s Left Eye of the World.
