Shigaraki Cosplay Costumes of 2023

Discover your inner Shigaraki

You want to be a villain? Why not go as a big villain? You should cosplay Shigaraki, the heir to All For One’s legacy. Everything he touches turns into ash, and everything you put into a Shigaraki cosplay is guaranteed to be awesome. Here are a few things you should know about Shigaraki, the former leader of the League of Villains and now the Grand Commander of the Paranormal Liberation Front.

Who is Shigaraki?

At first, Tomura Shigaraki seemed like a misguided youth who had been corrupted by All For One to hate heroes. He was seen as a selfish and arrogant man-child, lashing out at the world for being so unfair. But then, as the series progresses, it turns out that everything he has done was at his own volition. He has his own reasons for hating heroes.

His real name is Tenko Shimura, the grandson of Nana Shimura, All Might’s mentor and the seventh holder of One For All. That’s why his initial goal was to kill All Might, the Symbol of Peace. But when All Might defeated his mentor All For One and subsequently retired, he shifted his focus towards destroying society as a whole.

His Quirk is Decay, which lets him disintegrate anything he touches with all five fingers. It works on organic and inorganic material, making him one of the most dangerous villains in the series. This is a man who killed his entire family when he awakened his Quirk, and he will not stop until all heroes are dead.

How to Look Like Shigaraki

Without anything covering his face, you’d say Shigaraki looks like death, and you’d be right. He has really pale skin with a yellow tinge and wrinkles around his red eyes. His eye color can be only be obtained from contact lenses. His lips are chapped and uneven, as if he’s permanently dehydrated.  His grayish-blue hair is messy and unkempt. His body is thin and lanky.

People who don’t know him would think he’s emaciated and malnourished. But with his villain costume on, he is truly menacing. Here’s a tutorial on Shigaraki’s makeup.

Those hands that cover him aren’t just for decoration, but are from people he had killed when his Quirk first manifested. His mother’s hand around his neck, his grandfather’s on his upper arms, his grandmother’s on his forearms, his sister’s on his wrists, his father’s on his head and face, and two unnamed street punks’ hands on his chest and shoulders.

He does lose a good number of them later on. As he becomes his own man and ascends as the leader of all villains, he starts to shed them as he sheds his past like how he sheds anyone he touches with decay and death.

First Villain Costume

The fourteen hands covering him are Shigaraki’s most striking trait. The sheer number and their significance says everything about the character, and it steals everyone’s attention. Both costumes have them as Shigaraki’s trademark. Underneath is his civilian outfit of black v-neck shirt, black pants, and red sneakers. We’ve scored te internet for the best tutorial

Second Villain Costume

As he becomes a more significant villain, he starts wearing a suit similar to the villain Overhaul. At first, he keeps the embalmed hands, but then sheds them as he comes onto his own.

If you’re drawn to the chaotic malevolence of Shigaraki, you won’t want to miss the fiery intensity of Bakugou or the enigmatic allure of Dabi.
