How to Put on a Normal and Mesh Type Wig Cap
Looking fabulous in any wig is easy, but it can also be easy to mess up if your wig cap isn’t put on properly. This brief guide can teach you how to wear either a normal nylon type or mesh type wig cap. If you don’t have a wig cap or your only one broke suddenly, you could always make a wig cap from old stockings!
How to use a plain nylon wig cap:
Secure your hair into a braid or a ponytail. If you have longer hair, secure it with a low ponytail, or if you have shorter hair, you can part it in the middle and make two braids on both sides of your head.
Starting from the back of your head, stretch the opening of the wig cap and cover the back of your head to the front. Make sure to secure the stray back hairs and sideburns inside the wig cap. Don’t forget to line up your hairline to the garter or stretchy side of the wig cap.
If you find any bumps of hair on the wig cap, smoothen them by distributing the hair equally around the area.
How to use a mesh wig cap:
For shorter hair, you don’t need to secure it with anything. For longer hair, you can either let it hang or put it in a low ponytail.
Stretch out the mesh wig cap and wear it like a necklace.
Starting from the bottom, pull the mesh wig cap up to the top of your head to gather all your hair. Make sure to line up your hairline with the garter of the wig cap properly.
Once all your hair is in the mesh wig cap, you can pin it closed using bobby pins.
